Our life skills customers and life skill program testimonials, from across the U.S.
"The Peak Mastery program has helped me understand that life will not be
handed to me on a silver platter. I have learned where I want to go in life
and how to get there... Thank you!"
Ryan Jackson, student

"Peak Mastery is an integral part of student programming in the educational
grants which I manage for the AIM Institute in Omaha Nebraska. The Gear UP
program is a federal grant that targets middle school students for early college
preparation. PM is used by the school counselors to start the thinking process
of middle school students regarding career and college preparation. Talent
Search is another federal program that targets middle school students. PM
is utilized as the core curriculum for after school classes opened to all
students.
"The Peak Mastery program in Talent Search is one of the highest attended
programs of all the after school offerings in the Talent Search Program. The
federally funded Math/Science Upward Bound Program focuses on first generation,
low income high school students who want to attend college. Once again, this
is the program of choice by Upward Bound students. It grabs the minds of the
students from the very beginning and motivates interest to the completion.
The curriculum provides many opportunities for mentors and teachers to utilize
"teachable moments." It is an outstanding dollar value for any granting effort
working with young adults."
William Lutz, Educational Grants Director, AIM Institute, Omaha, NE
"Peak Mastery has become a great asset to our current programming by providing
an additional tool to help the youth reintegrate back into society with realistic
goals. I use the Program with youth who are exiting the Juvenile Justice System
and moving on to an adult lifestyle and choices. The program is very user
friendly. It allows for many opportunities to discuss realistic vs. unrealistic
goals with each youth from the simpler things in life, to the more complex.
The program gives the youth a clear understanding of what is expected of them
in order to achieve their goals. The program stresses the importance of education,
which helps to solidify the already present verbal encouragements for continuing
their education.
"I would recommend this program to other organizations that work with youth
in stabilizing behaviors and preparing youth to return to society with positive
and realistic expectations. It creates a better understanding for each youth
on the importance of positive choices and what it will take to make it in
the 'real world'."
Tony Soupir, Juvenile Corrections Institutional Case Manager, Pine Cottage,
North Dakota Youth Correctional Center
“When we introduced the program in our “Individual and Family Counseling”
department, it gained immediate acceptance with both our counselors and clients…
We’re often cynical when it comes to gimmicks, charts and graphs, but you’ve
certainly won us with your life skills program.”
W.F. Montfort, President, Rocky Mountain Rehab Center
"The Peak Mastery program presents young people with the reality that getting
an education is a necessary step in achieving the lifestyle they desire. Many
teenagers want and expect a certain type of lifestyle but have never considered
that the actions and decisions they are making today will have a direct effect
on their future. This program encourages them to get an education. These young
people need a reason to go to school and put more effort into learning. Being
told to do so does not always influence them, and your program shows them
why they need an education."
Patricia Ezell, Teen Court Director, Colorado Springs, CO
"I want to let you know how much we have appreciated your Peak Mastery Program.
I have had the opportunity to implement your program in two different high
schools. Your program has been instrumental in providing students with a realistic
view as to how choices they make during their high school years can have an
impact on their future.
"One of the major obstacles that students face is to understand “cause and
effect.” This Program is a success because not only does it peak the students’
curiosity, but it also sustains it. As the student becomes aware of the importance
of the relationship between education and earning potential, their interest
in increased. The program does this by placing students in a realistic situation
where they become financially independent, and then it is up to the students
to take charge of their financial freedoms.
"The process allows the students to safely and playfully discover that their
desires are not always obtainable. The students quickly learn the importance
of obtaining an education, which will help them achieve the financial income
necessary to survive.
"In implementing the program, I have also appreciated the technical support
you have given. Your staff has always been just a phone call away. The immediate
response and considerations have received have always been outstanding.
"I would recommend this program to other institutions or groups who work with
youth and desire to better educate them in the reality of the “real world.”
"Thank you for all your help and support. This has been a great asset to our
program."
Kimberly Bolding, InterCept Program Facilitator, Women’s Resource Agency,
Colorado Springs, CO
“Your program worked very well with my at-risk students. Many of them had
no concept of how expensive the "real world" can be. They now understand how
important higher education is to their future happiness.”
Jodi Disario, Alta Visa High School, Mountain View, CA
"This is something that will really make an impact, it will really make a
difference I had no idea what to do to make it. I wanted cold, hard facts.
I wanted a plan. I wanted something that said, this is what you want, and
this is how you get there. Needless to say, I didn't find it at school. Instead,
I found the infamous, "Education is very important," or, "You have to finish
school so you can get a good job and make good money." Ok, to most teenagers,
that's too abstract."
Cynthia, High school drop out
“I’ve been using your charts and materials with several of my JPTA youth
students and have had a very positive response to the presentation of the
information.”
Kristin Phillips, CCP Coordinator, Institute for Business and Industrial
Technology
"When I was first contacted about the benefits of the Peak Mastery Program
I kept putting them off until they finally trapped me into reviewing the concept.
I wish that I'd listened sooner as the program fits so well into the purpose
of the Upward Bound Program -- to help low income and first generation kids
to prepare for going to college. As everyone has a lifestyle dream, this helps
the students to understand the importance of careers and the education necessary
to catch the dream. An old Alaskan Native proverb says, "Tell me and I will
forget. Show me and I will remember. Involve me and I will understand." That's
what this program does, gets them involved. Not only do we have all Upward
Bound students involved but also the partner high schools have signed all
8 - 12 graders into the program. None of the schools has a full time high
school counselor so the Program is being incorporated into their curricula.
I guess you'd say this is a very positive testimonial for the Peak Mastery
Program."
